DNA

Desoxyribonucleic acid. The carrier of genetic information for all complex organisms. DNA consists of four different bases bound to a sugar-phosphate backbone:  adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), thymidine (T). The genetic information is encoded in the sequence of the four bases on the sugar-phosphate-backbone.
