Epigenomics AG veröffentlicht Finanzergebnisse für die ersten neun Monate 2019
 

Berlin (Deutschland) und San Diego, CA (USA), 19. November 2019 – Die Epigenomics AG (FSE: ECX, OTCQX: EPGNY, das „Unternehmen“), hat heute die Finanzergebnisse (nach IFRS, ungeprüft) für die ersten neun Monate 2019 veröffentlicht.
 

Wesentliche Ereignisse nach Ende des Berichtszeitraums

  • Am 7. November 2019 hat Epigenomics eine Kapitalerhöhung mit einem Brutto-Emissionserlös von EUR 8,3 Mio. erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Die Aktien aus der Privatplatzierung wurden mehreren Investoren zugeteilt, darunter insbesondere institutionelle Investoren aus den USA und Deutschland.
  • Am 21. November 2019 wird Dr. Elvira D’Andrea, eine der Autorinnen des Mikrosimulationsmodells zum Vergleich der Ergebnisse von Darmkrebs-Früherkennungsmethoden, darunter auch der Epi proColon-Bluttest, auf der 12. European Public Health Conference der European Public Health Association präsentieren. Darüber hinaus nimmt Dr. D’Andrea zusammen mit ihrem Kollegen Dr. Medhi Najafzadeh, Mitautor des Modells, am 21. November an einer Telefonkonferenz für Investoren teil, in der sie ihre Präsentation mit dem Titel „Quantifizierung des Einflusses von Teilnahme an Vorsorgeuntersuchungen auf die Inzidenz und Mortalität von Darmkrebs“ („Quantifying the impact of adherence to screening on colorectal cancer incidence and mortality“) vorstellen werden.

Darüber hinaus freue ich mich auf die Telefonkonferenz mit Dr. D’Andrea und ihrem Mitautor Dr. Najafzadeh, in der sie interessierten Investoren ihre positiven Studienergebnisse des Mikrosimulationsmodells vorstellen werden.“
 

Kennzahlen

  • Die Produktumsätze in den ersten neun Monaten stiegen im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum um 28 % auf TEUR 818. Der Gesamtumsatz sank im Berichtszeitraum im Vergleich zum Vorjahr auf TEUR 847 (9M 2018: 1.315 TEUR) aufgrund geringerer Lizenzumsätze.
  • Die Forschungs- und Entwicklungskosten erhöhten sich im 9-Monatszeitraum um EUR 1,2 Mio. auf EUR 5,7 Mio., resultierend aus den Aufwendungen im Zusammenhang mit der Post-Approval Studie für Epi proColon und der HCC-Studie in den USA.
  • Die Vertriebs- und Verwaltungskosten stiegen von EUR 6,0 Mio. (9M 2018) auf EUR 6,9 Mio.
  • Das EBITDA (vor Aufwendungen für anteilsbasierte Vergütung) sank von EUR -8,0 Mio. im Vergleichszeitraum 2018 auf EUR -9,7 Mio.
  • Der Periodenfehlbetrag lag bei EUR -10,0 Mio. (9M 2018: EUR -8,7 Mio.); der Verlust je Aktie reduzierte sich gegenüber dem Vorjahreszeitraum aufgrund der höheren Aktienanzahl nach der Kapitalerhöhung im zweiten Halbjahr 2018 auf EUR 0,28 (9M 2018: Verlust von EUR 0,36).
  • Der Finanzmittelverbrauch erhöhte sich in den ersten drei Quartalen 2019 auf EUR 10,9 Mio. (9M 2018: EUR 6,9 Mio.). Der Anstieg ist insbesondere auf gestiegene F&E-Aufwendungen sowie Veränderungen im Working Capital zurückzuführen.
  • Zum 30. September 2019 verfügte das Unternehmen über liquide Mittel von EUR 6,3 Mio. (inkl. marktgängiger Wertpapiere) gegenüber EUR 17,1 Mio. zum Jahresende 2018.

 

Ausblick 2019

Umsatz

  • Wie im Prospekt für die Kapitalerhöhung im November 2019 angekündigt, erwartet die Gesellschaft für das Gesamtjahr 2019 einen Umsatz in einer Bandbreite von 1,0 Mio. EUR bis 1,5 Mio. EUR.

EBITDA

  • Beim EBITDA vor Aufwendungen für anteilsbasierte Vergütung prognostiziert Epigenomics für das laufende Gesamtjahr 2019 eine Bandbreite von EUR -12,5 Mio. bis EUR -14,0 Mio.
